FAQ
Questions, answered.
Everything families ask us before they start.
Getting started
What do I need to get started?
A screen with a web browser: a wall-mounted tablet, a TV, a spare monitor or a computer. Everyone else can use their phone. Setup takes about ten minutes.
Do I have to buy a device?
No. Novari runs on screens you already own. An older tablet on a wall mount works beautifully.
When can my family sign up?
Novari is in early testing with a small group of families. Sign-up opens soon.
Is there an iPhone and iPad app?
It’s on the way. Until then, Novari runs beautifully in Safari and can be added to your Home Screen.
Screens & calendars
Which calendars work with Novari?
Apple iCloud and Google calendars, plus any calendar that can share a subscription link. Changes show up on their own.
Can the screen hang in portrait?
Yes. Novari adapts to landscape or portrait, and to any screen size, from a phone to a TV.
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Each screen keeps its own copy, keeps running through Wi-Fi drops, and catches up when the connection is back.
Where do the photos come from?
A shared iCloud album, Google Photos, or pictures you upload from your phone. They play on the screensaver, and you can swipe through them.
Does it work with Apple HomeView?
HomeView shows widgets from your iPhone. When the Novari iPhone app arrives with its widgets, today’s chores, the next event and tonight’s dinner can appear there too.
Kids & parents
Do kids need accounts or email?
No. Kids get a profile inside your family’s Novari and just tap their picture. Parents hold the account and a PIN.
What can kids change?
Anyone can check off chores and routines, add to the shopping list, suggest meals and post notes. Settings, approvals and goals are for parents, behind a PIN.
Can stars become allowance?
If you like. Set what a star is worth, and pay out with a tap. Or keep stars just for goals and badges.
Privacy & plans
Is our family’s information private?
Yes. Your parent PIN itself is never saved anywhere, each family’s information is kept separate, there are no ads or trackers, and we never sell or share your data. More on privacy.
What does Novari cost?
The essentials are free forever. Novari Plus, coming soon, is planned at $39.99 a year or $4.99 a month with a 14-day free trial. Compare plans.
Who makes Novari?
Novari is made by Teton Infrastructure.
